Paddle through History on the Indian River!

The 51-mile-long Indian River was designated a Federal Wild and Scenic River in 1992. It was a critical passageway when logging the area long ago, and if you watch closely you might see century-old remnants of logs, bridges, and dams along the river bottom. While the forest service provides approximately 20 different portage points, these vary dramatically as far as accessibility and passibility. The route Baldy Shores Kayaking services is approximately 4.7 miles long, maintained, and promises you an easy experience when both entering and exiting the river. Taking 1.5 to 3 hours depending on your pace, experience level, and number of stops, this route offers easy navigation while still providing some adventure with occasional obstacles such as fallen trees and narrower sections with a bit more current.
